The Ministry of Trade of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has decided to enforce mandatory standards to enhance competitiveness and protect consumer

The Ministry of Trade of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has decided that imported goods at the ports of entry, under the list of mandatory Ethiopian Standards, should be accompanied by a certificate of Conformity from an authorized Third Party Inspection Body.

Bureau Veritas will carry out the verification of conformity of the listed goods to the Ethiopia to national (and/or international) standards, in the countries of export:

- Construction materials (steel bars, cement, bricks, aggregates, nails, steel plates)

- Food (water, beverages – coffee - fruits – vegetables – Edible oils and fats – Oilseeds pulses...)

- Fertilizers

- Textile and leather products

- Detergents, soaps,

- Electrical products (cables, luminaries, ballasts, batteries...)

- Metrology and measurement equipment

- Eye Protective Equipment

- Polyethylene films, Matches, boxes for packing rose flowers
