Bureau Veritas (Government Services & International Trade Division) will, from 1st January 2014, perform the pre-shipment inspection programme of imports sent to Somalia.

This inspection programme is conducted under the Ministry of Trade and Industry supervision and applies to all goods entering Somalia.

Exporters are invited to contact Bureau Veritas to initiate the inspection process which will cover the following items: 
- physical inspection 
- customs classification 
- customs value

Operators will have the Verigates tool, a free 24/7 secure web portal, to monitor their operations and the issuance of the certificate online.
