According to a recent circular of the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), it is confirmed that, in addition to Freon 11 and Freon 12 banned earlier, cooling equipment (such as refrigerators, air conditioners, compressors, freezers) operating on Freon 22 – Freon 123 refrigerant gases will be banned from January the 1st, 2015. However, spare parts needed for maintenance and operation of equipment currently in service are exempted from this requirement.
