As part of the National Transformation Program 2020 and 2030 Vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, SASO has started implementing the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM) from beginning 2019 and mandating the registration of imported products on the web platform SABER through seven timeline phases, completed in January 2020.

SASO has classified the imported products on SABER under two categories:

  • Regulated products: Products covered by Saudi Technical regulations that require product certification and shipment certificates for customs clearance, must be processed for all regulated products under SABER as of January 15th 2020.
  • Non-Regulated products: Products requiring importer declaration of conformity and shipment certificates issued from SABER for customs clearance, must be processed under SABER as of February 15th 2020. Issuance of Former Certificates of Conformity (CoC) will be stopped after this date.

Bureau Veritas is a Conformity Assessment Body approved by SASO to carry on certification activities under SALEEM through the SABER platform. We accompany you in the assessment of your exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and administrative tasks to comply with the applicable regulations.
