Tanzania – PVoC – TBS orders re-export of shoddy (poor quality) mosquito spray

Tanzania

Recently, a consignment of mosquito sprays has been repressed by the Tanzania Authorities at arrival in Dar Es Salaam. The products were found substandard after testing and the importer was ordered to export the goods back to Turkey. According to TBS (Tanzania Bureau of Standards), the importing company was also found using TBS mark of quality without being registered.

Therefore, TBS reminds all importers that all related products such as Mosquito nets, mosquito coils and insecticide aerosols shall be compliant with the applicable standards in Tanzania and those importers who misuse the standard mark of quality on their products without following the required procedures will expose themselves to serious consequences including prosecution.

Bureau Veritas provides PVoC (Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity) service and helps exporters and importers swift customs clearance with the appropriate CoC (Certificate of Conformity).
